Wednesday September 9th was a memorable day at our club.  We welcomed a new member.  Our District Governor Del Green, Assistant Governor Wendy Hornack and Mark Harbison joined us in welcoming our representatives from the Rotary Club of Sendai.  Mr. Jun Ogata and Mr. Earl Okawa joined us and presented a moving program regarding a joint project to help the people of the Tohoku Region still suffering from the devastation of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami that occurred on March 11, 2011.

Mr. Ogata is the Director of the Sendai Ikuei Gakuen's International Center and works for Mr. Takehiko Katoh, the principal of the school.  Mr. Katoh is a member of the Sendai Rotary Club and Chairman of their International Service Committee.

This will be a great opportunity to help our sister club in Sendai.
