Our Rotary Club of Maui has finished a long project to help the residents at Hale Makua in Kahului have a new fresh updated dining and activity center. Val and Steve Spence set up a refreshingly lovely color design for the area, and with the help of 2 other local Rotary clubs ( Kahului, and Wailuku who volunteered time) we painted over the old beige walls, and transformed the common and much used area into a vibrant place for the residents to hang out for planned activities, have fellowship, or dine.
Our club then raised $4000.00 to update the needed chairs and delivered them on November 14th to the activity center. One of the ladies there spied the lovely chairs and said, "This will look nice in my room, just take one there now!". We all laughed and were delighted that they made everyone smile, and were appreciated.
